Physical Facilities

The college has adequate infrastructural facilities to carry out the academic, administrative, curricular and extra-curricular activities. Some of them are newly created and the old ones are renovated. The details are as follows:

There are four buildings having more than 175 rooms including 82 Classrooms of which 13 are LCD equipped, 08 Computer Labs including Language Lab, Central Library, NRC, separate Reading Rooms for boys, girls and staff, Auditorium, Media Center, Conference Hall, 23 Laboratories including 3 Research Labs, Administrative Office, Separate Common Rooms for boys and girls, Separate Staffrooms, Common Facility Center (CFC), Animal House, Botanical Garden, separate rooms for all Departments with internet facility, Virtual Classroom etc. Sadguru Gadage Maharaj College is a multi-faculty (Arts, Commerce, and Science) college with 7618 students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The infrastructure of the college plays a vital role in developing a conductive atmosphere for the academic growth of students. The college has a Building and Construction Committee to monitor the entire infrastructural development process. Besides, the committee attempts to provide adequate infrastructural and other learning facilities that facilitate effective teaching and learning.

The policy of the college is to provide the students with the best infrastructural facilities. Hence, at the beginning of every academic year, a plan is prepared considering the views of all the stakeholders and the infrastructural needs arising from time to time as a result of academic development. Further, the plan is discussed in the College Development Committee (CDC) meeting and the same is sent for the approval to the Top Management parent institution i.e. Rayat Shikshan Sanstha. The required funds are generated from different funding agencies such as UGC, RUSA, DST, State and Central Governments, etc. if the funds so received fall short, provision is made through self-funding.

  • Classrooms and Seminar Halls

    The institute regularly updates the physical infrastructure to meet academic requirements. The college has five multi-storied buildings having more than 254 rooms including 92 classrooms, of which 32 are LCD equipped and 08 are smart classrooms. There are 05 video-capturing centers, 06 seminar halls, 02 auditoriums and 01 conference hall. The Institute has improved the teaching-learning process with contemporary aids and created Technology Enabled Classrooms with LAN/Wi-Fi facilities, LCD projectors, etc. The smart classrooms and seminar Halls are used to conduct special programs like Seminars, workshops, symposiums, etc.

    Laboratories

    Modern laboratories are established in the institution for the conduct of regular practical classes. The college has 50 different laboratories including 04 research laboratories and 01 English language laboratory. All the laboratories are updated with high-end equipment like HPLC, FTIR, UV Spectrophotometer, Digital Spectrometer, Theodolite, Laminar Air Flow PCR etc.

    Computing Equipment

    Round-a-clock internet facility with 120 Mbps speed is available in the college campus with modern computing facilities of 720 computers and 8 servers with specialized software with LAN/WI-FI connection. The students can utilize the system during lab hours and in NRC for their academic needs.

    TAP Cell

    Training and Placement Cell functions throughout the year towards generating placement and training opportunities for prospective students to achieve placement in the campus selection programs. The placement cell coordinates quite well with the corporate sector and provides well-developed infrastructure to facilitate the campus selection programs.

    IIIC

    The Invention, Innovation and Incubation Cell (IIIC) is an initiative to create entrepreneurial culture in academic institutions to foster the growth of innovation and entrepreneurship among the faculty and students.

    Library

    The college has an automated library with 1,13,337 printed volumes of books on different disciplines, with a separate section for 102 international and national periodicals, 350 CDs/DVDs, 12 newspapers, 946 Bound Volumes of journals to provide effective learning resources to the students. The Library has provided 6000+ e-journals and 31,35,000+ e-books on various subjects. Library also developed electronic information resources for remote access. Network Resource Centre (NRC) facility provided by the library to access electronic resources. Central and faculty-wise reading room facility make available for students.

    Generator

    Besides, three standby power generators having 63, 30 and 10 KVA are available on the campus to take care of the occasional power shutdown due to maintenance. One 2.5 KVA portable generator was provided to the physics lab.

    Facilities for the disabled students

    The campus has ramps to facilitate the differently abled to move by wheelchair, without any difficulty. A special collection of braille books, provision for these students to write the university exam in close proximity of the Exam Cell and a scribe for the visually disabled students is provided.
