Information

The Department of Physics is a part of this college which is established in 1965 with a special ambition to pursue high level teaching methodologies to deliver fundamental Physics terminologies in a better way. Gradually the department has flourished further year by year. The Department offers UG and PG course as well as develop the skill techniques among the students. It also provides skill development and career oriented courses for students. Moreover, from B.Sc. I class to M.Sc. II class near about 725 students are learning in the department. The M.Sc. Physics program (PG) is started from the academic year 2019–2020. Total 13 faculties are working in the department with full devotion. They are always engaged in research and in giving guidance to students, they completed UGC funded one minor research project and three RUSA funded research projects are on-going. The history of the department proved that it has remained flourishing and will remain so in future. The department has active MoU’s and linkages with many reputed Institutes and Industries. The department always tries to develop overall personality of students by conducting various student-centric activities like International/National/State/University level Conferences, seminars, workshops, Industrial visits etc. frequently to enhance the interest of students in physics.

Vision:

The Vision of the Department is to develop it, as an Academic excellence in Solid State Materials and Technology. We are trying to achieve overall development of the students to meet the International standards and to use the knowledge of Physics for academic & Industrial development. The department will take up joint research projects in the field of Nanomaterials and thin films so as to fulfill the requirements of the society. The joint Industry-Departmental research projects will be undertaken to promote and support a comprehensive, innovative and dynamic learning environment that meets the need of a diverse student population.

Mission:

To provide every undergraduate with experiences and ideas related to physics that will serve as a foundation careers and future higher studies in physics

Goals:

  • Challenge students to acquire a knowledge of physics that reaches above and beyond a basic, poor understanding
  • To provide all undergraduate students with education in physics which will serve as a part of foundation for lifelong learning of science, engineering and Physics.
  • To increase the participation, retention and success for students enrolled in Physics.
  • To provide positive experience that stimulate and interest in and an appreciation for Physics
  • To produce competent and versatile graduates guided by high moral and ethical values.
  • To continue to build an excellent undergraduate Physics programme.
